Products Description
Â
The API 6D ball valve is designed in accordance with API 6D, the ball valve is connected by bolts, the seat ring is trunnion mounted, and the spring is loaded to ensure contact with the ball, even if the pressure difference between the cavity and the downstream closure is low. It can also provide an effective tight seal in case of leakage. Cast fixed ball valves are mainly used for opening, closing and fluid exchange.
API 6D trunnion mounted ball valves operate easily and smoothly under high line pressures. Carefully aligned bearings facilitate low-torque operation. The ball is fixed in place but free to rotate. API 6D ball valves have a fireproof design certified to BS 6755, API607 and API 6FA. Meets all applicable ASME standards.

What is a Trunnion Ball Valve?
Â
Trunnion ball valves are ideal for high pressure operation. The design secures the ball valve trunnion, which means sealing for both upward and downward flow is possible.
Trunnion ball valves play a vital role in controlling the flow of fluids or gases in various industries. The valve consists of a ball supported by a trunnion bearing within the valve body.
Soft seals such as elastomer or PTFE are used for many fluids, while metal seals are used in high-temperature applications. This ensures a tight closure and prevents leaks.
In a trunnion ball valve, the anchor ball is supported by the stem and trunnion. The fixed ball cannot move to the downstream valve seat through the pressure of the upstream water flow like the floating ball to form a seal.

Advantages of the API 6D Trunnion-mounted Ball Valve
Â
â— Lower operating torque
The operating torque of a trunnion-mounted ball valve is reduced because the trunnions provide additional support, which strengthens the bottom and top of the ball.
â— Easy to operate
A quarter turn is easier to operate than a valve that requires a full turn. It is the first choice for industries that require quick operation and closure.
â— Minimize seat wear
The isolating properties of the trunnion-mounted ball prevent wear on the valve seat, thereby increasing its durability and longer service life.
â— High and low voltage control
Because ball valves are sealed by a separate spring mechanism, they are ideal for high and low pressure control.
